froglogic Releases Squish 2.1, The Leading Qt GUI Test Tool
Hamburg, Germany - 2005-11-16 froglogic GmbH today announced the availability of Squish 2.1, the new version of the most advanced automated GUI testing framework for Qt applications.
With Squish 2.1, froglogic focused on making Squish even easier to use by improving existing features in addition to adding some highly requested new features. The development was driven by customer feedback and many customers and evaluators already started using this new version during the development phase of Squish 2.1.
"We have a challenging testing environment due to the way our products tightly integrate with 3rd party CAD/CAM systems. Automating the interactions with the CAD system was essential in order to conduct realistic tests. When we initially evaluated Squish, we really liked the way it uses standard scripting languages for its test scripts which we took great advantage of. For version Squish 2.1, froglogic added a "record hints" facility that allows our application to directly control what appears in the recorded test script. This is essential in our test environment to eliminate the need for error-prone post-editing of the recorded test script." said Steve Olson from Vistagy, Inc.
The main new features of Squish 2.1 are:
- Running and controlling multiple AUTs on different hosts and even platforms from a singe test script
- Improved screenshot comparisons
- Image masks allowing to have more control over the screenshot comparison
- Different ways to view screenshot differences
- Record hints to allow the AUT to have more control over recording
- More script APIs
- WARNING test result
- Installing crash handlers
- Reading stdout and stderr from any AUT
- and much more
- Improved Squish IDE
- Filtering of test results
- Ability to use new test results as expected with one click
- More convenience shortcuts
- and much more
