Hamburg, Germany – 2007-12-18 froglogic GmbH today announced version 3.3 of the leading, cross-platform automated GUI testing tool Squish. Squish supports creating and running automated GUI tests of applications based on many user interface technologies including Trolltech’s Qt, Java AWT/Swing/NetBeans, Java SWT/Eclipse RCP, Web/HTML/AJAX and Mac OS X Carbon/Cocoa. Squish is being successfully used in QA departments across the world in companies such as Reuters Financial Software, EADS, Siemens, Synopsys, Xilinx, Trolltech and France Telecom Group.
One of Squish 3.3’s main new features is cross-technology support. While previous Squish versions worked exclusively on one specific GUI technology, Squish 3.3 allows to automate tests of hybrid GUI applications. For example, Squish tests can automate Win32 Active-X controls embedded in Qt applications, Java applets, Flash, or Active-X components embedded in a web application or mixed Java Swing/AWT and SWT/Eclipse RCP applications.
Other new features include dedicated support for interacting with Eclipse GEF views (Squish for Java) and QGraphicsView widgets (Squish for Qt), support for testing Mac OS X Carbon/Cocoa GUI applications, an integration into the Eclipse TPTP Framework and several improvements to improve Squish’s ease of use and test maintenance.
Squish 3.3 Beta is now available for customers and evaluators in their download area. If you are interested in Squish or would like to learn more about froglogic’s service offerings please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or visit http://squish.froglogic.com.
Squish 3.3 final will be released in January 2008.
